Always such a wonderful experience. The best food in Harrison. We love coming here for the gyros. The gyros are huge and with fresh toppings. I get mine with the spicy sauce. It us a little messy but the flavor is out of this world.. The tzaziki sauce is not overly sour. The greek fries are chips and have the most amazing seasoning on them. Feta, feta everywhere. The owners and workers are the nicest you will meet and it feels like home. We will return.
Recently had the beer battered fish gyro and oh, man. It hit the spot. Nice a crispy fish with a warm pita, decadent tzaziki sauce, lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese. It was just so wonderful!
Wow just wow. We had a group of 9 from out of town, I waited over a week to try this place out and it did not disappoint. Couple of cheeseburgers, Falafel, Baklava, Gyros, Lemon Chicken & potatoes, Greek salad & cheese fries (the kids want you to know its shredded cheese, 🤷♀️ we tried to tell them). Don't let the building keep you away it's a gem with humor all over the inside. Portions were of good size, we had left overs. It's definitely on my visit again list.
Stopped by The Big Greek Cafe for gyros, fries, and a coney hot dog. Our dinner was delicious and authentic. Dimitri went above and beyond to be helpful - I can tell this is a genuine establishment and will stop by again when in Harrison!
Just tried a gyro and apple pie dessert at The Big Greek Cafe in Harrison. I very much recommend it! Great, friendly service and wonderful selection (and homemade baked goods/desserts).
Let me start this by telling you i"m Greek by marriage, so i've had the cuisine from NC to Athens in Greece. That said, I was impressed with the vertical spits for cooking their meat, just like i saw in Greece. I can definitely recommend the food. I had a small gyro. I was hard pressed to finish it, so I can't imagine what a regular one would be. My daughter had stuffed peppers. She's accustomed to a version with sauce so she found these a bit dry but tasty nonetheless. We had planned to dine in, but they didn't have a kids menu, and we didn't want to order an adult portion for a 3-year old. That was a bummer, so we stopped at a fast food restaurant on the way home for chicken nuggets and fries. I wonder if they would let us bring in his nuggets and fries so that we could dine in. Next time I'm there, I want to try their pastichio. They describe it exactly the same as my Greek MIL always did, Greek lasagna.
